2024 PICTURE WEEK INFORMATION
WHEN: Picture week will take place Monday, June 3rd through Thursday, June 6th. There are no regularly scheduled classes during this week. PICTURES ONLY. We have scheduled class pictures as close to a dancer’s regularly scheduled class times as possible, however there are classes that are on a different/day time. See below for detailed picture times by class and day.

WHERE: At Dance Elite in Studio 1
WHAT: Each class performing in the end of year recital has a 15-25 minute time slot during picture day for both individual and group pictures. Individual photos (optional) as well as group shots will be taken during this time. Dancers should arrive in their recital costumes, with hair and make-up ready no more than 10-15 minutes prior to their picture time due to capacity restrictions!
Picture Day is Mandatory for those participating in our Annual Recital. Dancers will participate in the Group picture, but are not required to take an individual picture.
ATTIRE: Students should come to the studio fully dressed in their recital costumes and tights with hair and make-up ready to go. Costume letters will be included in all of our dancers’ costume bags when they pick up there costumes during Costume Distribution week (May 28th – June 1st). Monday Classes can pick up their costumes throughout the week at any point in time as there is no class on Monday May 27th (Memorial Day)
Costume letters letter will provide information on the required hair, make-up and shoes for each individual class. We ask that all dancers are wearing a clean, snag-free pair of recital tights (must be the tights required and provided for your costume). Please be aware that these same pair of tights will be worn on Production day and any stains/snags will show up under the lights on stage. If you'd like to purchase an additional pair, please let us know. We want to make sure that each dancer is prepared
MAKE-UP AND HAIR:
Individual and group pictures will be taken at the Dance Elite Studio the week of June 3rd - 6th.
Come in costume with make-up and hair done. Dancers should wear beige eye shadow, pink blush. Mascara for older dancers. Hair styles are assigned by class. Come to dress rehearsal and recital with hair and make-up already done. Dancers must arrive 10-15 minutes prior to their schedule picture time. There is no personal video or photography of any kind on picture day. Pictures/Videos can be taken at tech rehearsal only.
PICTURE PACKAGES
Photos are NOT included as part of your recital package If you would like INDIVIDUAL or GROUP photos of your dancers, they are available for purchase.
HOW TO BUY: Create an account on the Striking Image webpage, for any picture purchases. Purchase of any pictures are external to the Dance Elite recital package. All purchases are made directly through our vendor Striking Image. Each family must go to create their family account and manage their purchase through this portal. Purchase of pictures is OPTIONAL.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q. What do we do when we get to the studio for picture week?
A. Dancers will come dressed in costume, with hair and make-up ready and check-in as normal and be assigned to a classroom upon arrival, and will be called into the picture room when our photographer is ready. Dancers should arrive approximately 15 minutes in advance of their scheduled time. No earlier. Parents will not be allowed inside due to limited capacity. Please make sure your dancer is dressed and ready to go!
Q. When should we arrive for pictures?
A. Students are to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to their scheduled picture time. We ask for you to arrive early to ensure our schedule runs on time! Times below are approximate - We do our best to stay on schedule, so please plan accordingly
Q. What if my dancer has more than one picture on a certain day?
A. Please send your dancer(s) dressed and ready to go in their first recital costume of the day. If they have more than one class that day, please send them with all of their costumes on hangers, touchup makeup and extra hair ties & bobbi pins. Sending your dancers with a baggy button up shirt is advised so that they can cover up their costumes while waiting or touching up hair/makeup.
Q. Are parents allowed inside of the room during pictures?
A. No. We love you parents, but during picture week we need our dancers completely focused on their teachers to ensure we get the best pictures and that we stay on schedule. Studio 1 will have all windows covered, and the door will be closed during picture week. Please make sure you prepare your dancer (especially our youngest ones) that you will not be in the room.
Q. Are we required to purchase pictures?
A. No. You do NOT have to purchase any individual or group pictures. However, all dancers must participate in the GROUP picture. Only dancers whose families are purchasing individual pictures will take individual photos. Order forms are available ONLINE ONLY. We ask that you fill out your order forms in advance to help us keep things moving on time.
Q. I have multiple dancers enrolled. Can they take a sibling picture together?
A. Absolutely! If you would like a sibling picture, please let the office know so that we can schedule accordingly. We also allow for friend pictures if your dancer and a friend from class want to take a picture together. We just need to know in advance to allow for scheduling.
Q. My dancer is not participating in recital? Do we come to class on picture day?
A. Dancers who are NOT participating in recital are NOT required to attend picture week. There are no regularly scheduled classes during picture week, and this week is not included in the total annual tuition calculation. No make-up classes required!
Q. When my dancer’s class is finished taking pictures, will there be regular class with the remaining time?
A. There are no regularly scheduled classes during picture week, and this week is not included in the total annual tuition calculation. No make-up classes required!
Q. My dancer’s class is a technique only class (e.g. Strength & Stretch, Core & Technique, or Ballet Tech), do they have class that week?
A. No. All non-recital classes will not have classes during picture week. There are no regularly scheduled classes during picture week, and this week is not included in the total annual tuition calculation. No make-up classes required!
